Step 1. Click the "Messages" symbol on your Facebook homepage. The Messages icon is located in the top left corner and looks like 2 small overlapping speech bubbles.

Step 2. Click the discussion containing the message or messages you intend to delete. If it is not noted on the preliminary Messages pop-up home window, click "See All" to watch every one of your private messages. To delete an entire conversation instead of private messages, click "Delete Conversation" after clicking the Actions food selection in the 3rd action.

Erasing an exclusive message in your Messages inbox does not remove it from the inbox of your conversation companion.
