Step 1. Click the "Messages" symbol on your Facebook homepage. The Messages icon is located in the top left corner and looks like 2 small overlapping speech bubbles.

Step 2. Click the discussion containing the message or messages you intend to delete. If it is not noted on the preliminary Messages pop-up home window, click "See All" to watch every one of your private messages. Click the conversation on that checklist consisting of the message you wish to remove.

Step 3. Click the "Actions" button and then click "Delete Messages" on the Activities drop-down menu.

Step 4. Click the check boxes situated beside the messages you intend to remove.

Click "Delete" and then click "Delete Messages" to validate that you want to remove the selected messages.

Suggestion
To delete an entire conversation instead of private messages, click "Delete Conversation" after clicking the Actions food selection in the 3rd action.

Caution
Erasing an exclusive message in your Messages inbox does not remove it from the inbox of your conversation companion.
